Sorry I've been absent, I would say, if anybody actually read this...

So, I've decided to make comics the way that Terrence Mallick makes films. I'm not fully sure what that means, or even how I'm going to do it, I just know that that's I want to do.

Some New Paintings

Sorry about not posting these sooner, but here are some spray paint pieces I've done recently.

My First Foray into Water Colours

I tried doing a water colour painting today...and I think it was a sucess? I'm not quite sure. There are parts of the end result that came out even better than I had imagined them in my head; and then there are parts that just didn't quite live up to what I wanted. Well, I geuss the first time is always a bitch, so here goes nothing.

I can only post pictures of it for right now, so I can let the painting dry. Then maybe I might scan it.

This is my impromptu work area (AKA the kitchen floor). Here you can see the various things of paint and brushes and even the first stages of the canvas with it's two basic colours finished. Now here's a better view of the work in progress.

This is after just the base black and blue. Unfortunately it looks way too much like Jango Fett, which is not what I was going for.

Now this is much more of what I had in mind. The only problem are the colour tones. I mean the colours are in the general vicinity of what they should be, but they're just a couple of hairs off. I realize now that to do the amour I should have mixed a gray first, then added a light green to it, instead of making a green-blue mixture then adding a light gray. I am digging the gray storm clouds though.

The Labours of Keeping a Semi-Consistent Blog

My scanner hates me. And I don't mean in a "doesn't really care for me but it is nice enough not to let that interfere with doing it's job" kind of way. No, because I wish it was that. I'm talking about a deep seated psychological hatred for all things me. It's out to get me. I've started sleeping with one eye open due to my fears of my scanner coming after me in the midst of my sleep. And when I am awake, it's become this series of one-ups between me and my scanner. It scans my pencil drawings like shit, I bad mouth it. It says it's not registering on my computer, I unplug it. It refuses to save my scanned drawings, I punch it in the face. What I wouldn't give for it to be a love/hate relationship.

My favourite inking pen broke the other day at Starbucks. I was pissed as all could be. I mean when you pay $3.49 (not including tax) for a pen and it doesn't even last a full week (that's right, the pen lasted six days; I counted), I think you have the right to be a little pissed, if not completely outraged.

So, this week has been...good?

So I went to Starbucks yesterday to do some drawings of a coffeeshop and the people that go to a coffeshop. Unfortunately, there wasn't a good seat in a corner where I could see the entire place, and it wasn't the kind of Starbucks where people sit down and read for hours on end. One of the few times where there was somebody sitting down long enough for me to try and draw them, I got the distinct feeling that they knew I was trying to draw them...which made it really awkward.
But I did manage to get some awesome sketches of my hand in, which is a good sign that I ran out of things to draw pretty quick.

And here's my attempt at drawing Morrissey

And here's a horrible rendition of Nick Cave

It's been a long while, and I have a new sketchbook. So now you can enjoy some drawings of hummingbirds.

This is gonna be it for a while. Sorry...
Bored yet? I am.

The next one's a two-parter. This is just a one-parter.
There's a least four more pics. It's almost the end so could you please Chill-lax?

I don't know how much more of this I can take. In case you were wondering.

Are you satisfied yet? What more do you people want?

There's a lot more where this came from. A lot.

I'm just blowing your mind second by second. I know.
