My First Foray into Water Colours

I tried doing a water colour painting today...and I think it was a sucess? I'm not quite sure. There are parts of the end result that came out even better than I had imagined them in my head; and then there are parts that just didn't quite live up to what I wanted. Well, I geuss the first time is always a bitch, so here goes nothing.

I can only post pictures of it for right now, so I can let the painting dry. Then maybe I might scan it.

This is my impromptu work area (AKA the kitchen floor). Here you can see the various things of paint and brushes and even the first stages of the canvas with it's two basic colours finished. Now here's a better view of the work in progress.

This is after just the base black and blue. Unfortunately it looks way too much like Jango Fett, which is not what I was going for.

Now this is much more of what I had in mind. The only problem are the colour tones. I mean the colours are in the general vicinity of what they should be, but they're just a couple of hairs off. I realize now that to do the amour I should have mixed a gray first, then added a light green to it, instead of making a green-blue mixture then adding a light gray. I am digging the gray storm clouds though.

I would call this a complete success.
